Exo-Terra Swamp Glo

Hi,
I'm planning to get turtles in the next few days and I already have all the equipment I need. The only thing is that, when I asked the pet store owner which kind of basking light would be best for turtles, she told me to get this Swamp Glo. I know that turtles need UVA, UVB, and heat to dry compelete and to be healthy. But on the box it doesnt say if this bulb has it or not, and also I can not find anything answer online, or its not clear to me. Is anyone else using this bulb or should I just return it and pick up another kind?

Go get a reptisun or reptiglo 5.0 UVA/UVB bulb. They are great bulbs, that nearly everyone here uses.

does that bulb provide everything I need? (uvb,uva, and heat) or would I have to buy another lamp?

If the bulb doesn't explicitly state "X.x% UVB" than it doesn't provide significant UVB light.
The reptisun and reptiglo provide only UVB and UVA. You'll need a bulb for heat, but you can use a regular incandescent household bulb (try a 60-75 watt).

I like using a flood light for heat. The outdoor/indoor type gives it "splash" resistance, so I never worry about a shattered bulb on my turtle
Another option is a MVB or mecury vapor bulb. These provide UVA/UVB and heat. They are more expensive though.

BullDog is right, if they arn't clearly advertising UVB output it's more than likely that it only puts out UVA rays.

tom-u -- If the bulb does not have it listed, it doesn't have it. When getting you uvb, get the 5.0 and not the 10. The 10 it too strong. The pet shop did not have one and sold you what he had on hand. Again folks, most pet shops don't have a clue or less clues about turtles. Good Luck! m.
