My daughter had found Shilo a 50 long :) and I was wondering if I could just use another Whisper filter for that size tank? I really like them and they dont take up a lot of room? Also what about using and under gravel filter? Are they strickley for fish? Thanks

Gran-does -- What ever you do with your filters make sure you get a 5x turn over with your water. Check your mfg manual and see how many gph it puts out. Be careful using gravel. Make sure that it is larger than their mouths and will be when they get larger. I use river rocks that are about an inch in diameter. The undergravel filter does not do much for the gph but will help with the bacteria. I use an undergravel (rock) filter as an intake which takes some home made plumbing to make it work. Good Luck! m.

Under Gravel Filters are probably the worst filter that you can buy for a turtle Thats a fish on filter only. Only the dirt/poo just sits under the frame and holds it till you clean it out. With turtles that fills up so fast your tank will dirty in like 3 or 4 days.

2 whisper filters, i know they just changed design. If there the 2 of the new ones rated for aquariums up to 70gallon yea they work fine. I ran 2 of the slightly older designs on my 75gallon tank and worked great. They were rated 30-60gallons.

thank you so much! I am going to clean the tank and make sure it holds water. I do have the new design on the whisper and it works great. I really didn't like he undergravel filters when I had fish, it was just a thought...I am so excited to get Shilo into the new swimming space! Thanks for all of your support- you'all are great!

Under GRAVEL filter. Enough said.

I use 2 Filters with my tank. I think that it can produce good currents in tank to move poop around well. I think it should work, as long as there is enough GPH.
