I'll get into why later as it's late, almost 6:30am and my head hurts plus I wanted to get this question out there before I forget / goto bed.

What if any 2amp pump can move 15 - 20 gallons of water in about 3min 30sec time ?

When posting your "choices" please try to include price ranges, Ty.

More-wine -- You will have to determine the pump that you need. You will have to look up pumps that will move the tank water at least 5 time per hour. The amprage will differ from pump mfg to mfg. You must think in terms of Gallons Per Hour -- gph. Good Luck. m.

It's not going to be used as a filter pump, It's going to be used for a different project regarding the tank. I would have hoped that someone here might have some actual insight. I mean you did make a valid point about it differing from maker to maker amp wise. Anyway, if someone who has messed around with various pump etc in the past might have some insight please by all means share it because I would like to try and find a 2amp pump capable of moving atleast a minimum of 15g of water in 3min 30secs and.

I suppuse the time frame could be extended some but the 3.5min goal is what I'm shooting for.

Unless you get a positive displacement pump you will not be able to get the exact amount that you want as each centrifugal pump pumps differently and it will depend on the head that you are pumping against and the down flow siphon that occurs naturally. Good Luck!! m.

This is the pump I've decided to go with, at a 6' push I will be able to reach the goal I'm after. I'll just have to dial the pressure down on the pump so it doesnt flow to fast and make a mess of things.

Sad thing is I cant really use the auto re-fill / topoff setup I have in mind til I buy Nikos new tank which wont happen for a while ;-/
