About two months ago, I purchased a new Turtle Tuff basking light. The bulb claimed to be splash proof, so I thought I'd give it a try. Yesterday, I was cleaning one of my filters when I knocked the light fixture into the water. I immediately unplugged the light and pulled the fixture out of the water. I was amazed to see that the bulb hadn't shattered . After drying the bulb, I put the light in a new dry fixture and to my surprise, the bulb worked fine! I would recommended this bulb to anyone who is somewhat careless with letting water splash on your fixture. I've provided a the link to the products page.

I had that bulb and it went out after only a month or two. I'll stick with my incandescent bulbs. Also, be super careful about dropping the light fixture into the tank. That can not only electrocute your turtle and yourself, but can cause a house fire.
