Digital Thermometer

We have a digital thermometer for our tank and we have already replaced one battery in it and then it died after about three days! We even turned it off and on just when we wanted to check the temperature, and the battery still died. It was like five dollars and I was wondering if anyone else has had that problem with a digital thermometer. I hate to have to take the battery out of it each time, but we may have to do that. I hate to keep spending money on batteries. Do you think we got a defective one?

Hmm, I don't know if the thermometer is worth it to you, but you could take it to a jeweler shop and test the battery.

But if that doesn't work, I would just buy a new one, they aren't very expensive after all. But hey, since you had problems with digitals, why not skip the crap and go straight for a temp gun. You can get them for about $20 bucks at most hardware stores.

Right now, I'd recommend the temp gun Chris mentions plus a stick-on LCD thermometer. They seem to be more consistent that those $5 digital probes.
