and the marine-land heater? :

Also, should I get a heater for a 80 gal (I currently have a 55) tank because I know I'll need it for the future, or would it be too powerful?

Marineland is the parent company. I think a heater for the 80 gallon should be fine in a 55 gallon (depending on the water level).
