i have a xp3 in there with zoomed large dock, and a stealth 250 heater. its a 55 gal tank, and i have about 33 gallons in there right now... i was just wondering..

how long does it take ur guys' tank to get warmed up by ur heater?

also, is it unusual to get alot of little bubbles on the corner of the tank, around the filter output, and the heater its self.

Bubbles are normal it is just trapped air it is common with a new setup and will go away after awhile. I would think it should only take a few hours for your tank too reach 78 degrees.

thanks! the bubbles have been going away slowly. and over night the temp has gone to 78. thanks lots.

There is a lot of oxygen in the water once you fill it up... hence the bubbles. As for the heaters... I always have several extra to warm up the water after a change.

I have almost the same setup and my stealth also collects bubbles. It has been that way since i set it up several months ago and it still has the tiny bubbles. No problems so far!

The bubbles are likely chlorine gas trapped. If you are worried about bubble buildup, you can probably just take a paper towel and brush them away. I'd guess there is a little concern if the bubbles keep forming continually, like that your water has lots of chlorine or something. As for the heater, the two times that I filled up my tank, I kept alternating between room temperature water and slightly warmer water while filling it up to save the heater from having to work too hard. I put the turtle in some time later after the water had found a happy middle ground.
