Hi,

I was jsut curious if it's possible to get one powerful canister filter and then use it to filter out 2 aquariums?

the reason i'm asking is, i've got 2 separate aquariums for my turtles since one is a lot bigger than the other, i cant keep them together...the canister's are also very expensive but usually the one rated higher than the lower rating is only a price difference of like $20-$40

thanks guys 8)

Yes, it can be done, but it does put allot of strain on the filter pump, which reduces the life of the filter. And also, if one of your turtles gets sick, they will be sharing the same germy water, which means the other healthy turtle is at risk of catching what-ever the first one caught.

You could make your own filters, and save allot of money. All you need is a RubberMaid, a pond pump, filter media, and tubes for the intake, and out-put. :)
