Hmm, looks a lot like the cage carpets they sell for reptile tanks. I use that stuff for some of my setups as they are easy to remove and clean. I usually have two for each cage so I can just swap the dirty one for a clean one and take the time to soak and disinfect the dirty one.

I would think that might be good to use if you're building an above tank basking area.

Hey, that does look pretty good for an above tank platform. If I keep making those things I'll use that stuff instead of astroturf!
