Ok so I think im gonna get a new 75 gallon tank for Alphonse. I found one that comes with a stand, and hood for $100 on craigslist. So excited about it. I will need a new heater and filter for this tank, and I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for me. That and part of the tank need to be resealed, so if anyone could recomend a sealer for me too that would be great. Also any deals found would be great. Thanks so much.

A good water heater is the Marine Land Visi Therm Stealth Heater, i use it in my tank and the water stays at a perfect 78 degrees. It's realy great, :)

Is it a glass or acrylic tank? If its glass, you can buy All-Glass Silicone Sealant... it comes in a tube for a caulking gun or a small 1 oz tube for small fixes.

Big Als

For the filter go for an XP3.. about $100.

I also like the Stealth heaters, I've got one in each tank, no problems so far. Shop around online, but if you've got a petsmart near you, check out their online prices. If you print out the page and take it with you they'll pricematch their website, and the price difference is insane. I got the 100 watt heater for 17 dollars, it was 34 in-store.

Yup...i did the same thing Starchick.

And also, if you plan on getting a Python, syphon that hooks up to your sink (very helpful for filling and emptying your tank), do the price match thing from petsmarts web site and bring in a print to the store. I saved about $35 from the store price of around $70.
