In general, are the flourescent bulbs cool enough that they won't shatter if a few drops of water get on them? Does that go for the expensive UVB bulbs too?

My UVB bulb used to gather condensation overnight. I would turn the light on without drying it off. Whether or not that was a safe choice...I don't know. I never had any problems. Then again, if it warmed too much, it probably did it slowly.

The lack of heat put out by UVB flourescent does allow them to get more water on them and not shatter. I've splashed a few of my Reptisuns and nothing happened. Of course I wouldn't want to test this with lot of water and try not to get water on them at all, but a few drops shouldn't hurt.
