What would be the smallest tank to use this filter with would be?? I was thinking to use it with my 40 gallon because IM probably going to upgrade to a bigger one later on and i dont want to have to buy a bigger filter then.

It says it's for aquariums up to 1,500 liters, which would be roughly 400 gallons. A lot of filtration is good, but it sounds like too much for that 40 gallon. You could upgrade the tank first, then get the filter...

OK, I've forgotten what size your turtles are, but if you use the 10 gallons of tank per inch of shell length, adding their shell lengths (w/o the curves) together and multiplying by 10, you'll have an idea of what they ideally should be in. But go as big as you can, because they'll grow.

I mean, for the filter?? Would something around 90 gallons work or should i get somewhere around a 150 gallon, Im a marine and we dont really make that much cash and before i get this piece of equipment I wanna be ready with a tank that wont circulate the water too much that it will start creating whirl pools :)

The size of the tank depends on the size of your turtle (I don't know the size of yours). A 90-gallon tank would be good for up to around a 9-inch (shell-length) turtle. A good canister filter would work well in a tank that size. If you got a 150-gallon tank, I'd consider more than 1 aquarium filter (depending on the filter) or even a pond filter.

The tank does not circulate the water, the filter does. :)
