In the past three months Ive gone through two mega ray bulbs. The first one burned out in a month and after they finally sent me a replacement it burned out in a month as well. After the first one went and bought a brand new fixture so that shouldnt be a problem. has anyone else had problems with them? im doubt i'll ever get another one from them

The self balasted version is really sensitive to vibration and it break easely.mines burned after 4 months.
For durability i would suggest the external ballasted as it cant burn until the actual glass break.

After mine burned i trade it for the heat projector they sell, which was the exact same thing as the t rex heat safe lamp. mixing it with an uvb tube look more efficient to me. But if you can afford external ballasted + heat lamp that would be the best setup.

They recently had a recall, though I'm not sure you are experiencing problems related to that. It does seem like they are a lot of complaints revolving around them lately, in part due to their response to the situation. FWIW, T-Rex seems to be affected by these bad bulbs, though I have not read of any specific cases.

I heard about the recall with the bulbs. Apparently they got it fixed but I dont think thats my problem. Mine just wont last long. They sent me a credit slip to fill out so they can send me another one again. Ive never had this big of a problem with them before so i am just curious to see if others have had problems.

I would just double check the lamp and outlet and hopefully it's not an electrical problem. I would be a bit cautious with their bulbs in general but hopefully it's an isolated situation.
