Ok so im loving the power and filtration of my XP3 but every 30 - 45 minutes it seems like somehow air keeps getting into the line and my output will get louder and I can see it pushing out alot of air bubbles... my output is submerged with the spray bar.. any input plz...

are all tubing connections tight and secure? have you checked to make sure the filter media is clean and clear recently?

The air bubbles are from one of two things. It is either cavitating or you have an air leak on the suction side. If it is cavataing there is something stopped up on the suction side and will not let the water flow. m

ran-man = Cavitation is caused from the inpeller spinning and not getting enough water flow which creates air bubbles. Just because it is new does not mean that something is not in there. If that is not it you have an air leak on the suction side. If you do it is probably in a joint. m.

Also make sure the baskets are seated properly.

you don't have any bubble wands or powerheads blowing bubbles near your intake do you? check the seal where the top goes on, that ring will not seat right every time and could be a cause. last but not least, check the cap on your intake. good luck it's a great filter and i hope you get it worked out.

Sometimes all you have to do is tilt the filter to the left, than the right and back to level and the air problem will correct itself.

when air comes out like that, you're supposed to pump the filter. We've had this issue a few times recently and it always went away with a little bit of rigorous pumping.
