I did quite a bit of research and found that the Python was good. It was also available at the local Petco. I had it for about a year and I accidently broke the on/off shutoff valve near the suction point. I called up Python and they told me I could order it direct or go to the local Petco store. I found the replacement valve for a few dollars cheaper plus local tax. The system is great for emptying the tank and removing most of the solid contaminants, and also for filling up the tank. It came with a 50 feet hose so I can empty the used water outside. You can also purchase 25 foot extensions. If you don't have an outside water connection nearby, a sink can be used. My filter is just right to keep the water clean so I only have to add water every two to three weeks (remove about one-third and refill).
However, if you want or need just something to clean out debris a simple aquarium vacuum is okay.
