Various accessories and equipment discussed here.

Someone asked me about a filter for partially filled tanks.

Many power filters cause splash and too much noise in partially filled
aquariums (1/2 or 2/3 full).

If so, what's a good filter for partially filled tanks? can anybody help?
I forgot to ask why she needed a partially filled tank, but that's the question.

Canister filters are usually good for partially filled tanks. They've got a long enough intake tube, and you can put the output below the water line. Depending on the filter, it could be tricky to prime. A couple examples of canister filters (widely used on this forum) are the Rena XP3, and the Fluval 404 or 405. Those would be suitable for a partially filled tank 50 gals or larger.
