Well if you're getting a 90 gallon then neither of those will work. You want a filter that can handle at least twice the load of the tank. Also GPH rated at 5x an hour of what the aquarium holds.

The first one looks extremely generic. I would highly highly doubt with a full load of media that it would do 369 gph or even half that.

The second one looks like an extremely cheap knockoff of the Fluval 404/405.

My question to you about both. If something needed to be replaced, where would you get replacement parts?

Mo-grape - Keep in mind about the 5x rule. You want a filter pump to pump at least 5 times the volume per hour (gph) Watch out for any comparison to fish tank sizing. Double this? or Triple that? means nothing when comparing turtles to fish. Turtles doo a lot more that fish and require more and different filtering. b.

With canister filters, you get what you pay for. Buy a name brand like Fluval, Rena, or Eheim. You will spend more money, but you will get a reliable filter that you can easily find replacment parts for if something breaks.

My first canister filter was a Fluval 304, for a 55g tropical fish tank. When my boyfriend and I got a second 55g fish tank, he decided to get a cheaper filter. He got a Penn Plax canister filter, which was half the price of a Fluval. Yes, Penn Plax IS a name brand, but it was a cheap filter and it was a piece of junk. We had nothing but problems with it, and finally my boyfriend just went out and bought another Fluval to replace it.

I hear ya! I was in the same boat as you. Heck if you look at only a few months ago I was looking at generic filters just like you. Now I've got a Fluval 404 and a Rena XP4. I'm so happy I bought name brand.
