the Other day I aquired a pretty powerful water pump that was being thrown out. I also have an empty 10 gallon tank. My question is... Should I make a planted tank with it and have it circulate water to my turts 55 gallon tank? Ive seen this done before and apparently its good for the water quality. Also what type of plants should be used for a planted tank. I have an extra light fixture I could also use.

It's a great idea!! Are you thinking of making a sump setup but with plants?

I would use anarchis, that way when they over grow you can trim a piece and give it to the turtles.
I build acrylic ATBAs.

A sump is exactly what I was thinking. I already have a sump with my 55 but I was going to use this as an addition to my sump I currently have running.
