Equipment Review and Discussion :: New Part From Python

A part of my Python cracked so I sent it back with the re-order form and all. Has anyone done this before? How long did it take to get the replacement part?

Hi there,

I have never ordered the part, but just saw an add for a Python cleaning system. How do you like it? What are the pros and cons for it?

I have a 55 gal tank and it is so hard taking it down to the bare stones to clean up after my piggy turtles. LOL. They are such slobs, but I love them to pieces.

Oh it's awesome- I'm in a panick mode till I get it back. I also have a 55 gallon and it makes cleaning so much easier and faster. You just hook it up to your sink, turn a nob, put the water on full blast, and it'll suck the water out of your tank and right down the drain. Then you push the nob up, and turn on the water to refill the tank.

I bought the 15 foot hose, and now I wish I got one bigger. We are looking to buy a new house, and all the ones I've seen, the closest sink is much further than 15 feet.

It really is the best investment I've made for my fish and turtle.

Which part broke? Most of the components are standard-sized parts you can find at a hardware store.

The plastic green part that you hook up to the sink and pull down or back up to release or push the water.

I got the part today! I can't believe how fast it was! It took exactly a week- I was expecting 2 or 3. They also didn't charge my credit card number I put... My Python is still under warrenty since it is less than a year old, but I didn't have the receipt, so I just paid it.

Good to hear. The large green piece is similar to what they use for waterbed refill kits -- I tried using that before I picked up the python.
