Equipment Review and Discussion :: Which Light Fixture to go for? help!

First post on this site, great info by the way!

I am planning ahead for my two turtles, they are both 1 year old. I plan on buying a new light fixture but have come to a minor dilemma...

Just wondering which would be better or is there any difference between these two fixtures...

I guess my question is, is the strip lighting more effective? After all both types of bulb do have the same effect I think, and I am planning on buying a separate fixture for the basking area.

Thats about the only differance is the bulbs, i would go with the tubes instead of compact because of the price of bulbs alone...

the only nice thing about the tripple compact style is you could use a combination of bulbs, which really you arn't looking for because i doubt it will hande the high heat and wattage of a basking bulb...

I would just put the reptiglo on a clamp lamp. But If you want the hood style I would go with the tubes, I find tube florescents more reliable then compact florescents.

I lllooove that my lights are clamped on the side and if you can help it go get your clamp from wal mart they are like 10 smackers cheaper there than at the pet store!
