Has anyone tried this product? I saw it at bigalsonline (# 4135) and it says that it removes hard water and limescale stains, which I have a lot of above the water level in my tank. What do you guys think, does this stuff have mad chemicals in it or is it safe? Anyone use this before? If not, are there any natural ways to remove the limescale buildup? I'm not down with putting a lot of chemical cleaners in there, otherwise i'd just bleach everything. (but the thank is too big to just rinse out with a hose and tip over to drain).

360X -- You may have extremely hard water and that if the byproduct of it. I had that problem until I purchased a water softener, which helped a little. I went to distilled water, but that got too expensive. The next step was to get a reverse osmosis system which helped a great deal with the dissolved solids (harness) and that is doing great. I know of no other good way to resolve the hardness.

Are you sure it's hard water stains? I frequently get shed skin stuck to the water line in the tank.

Bleach really won't help you but vinegar and supposedly lemon juice (they are acidic) are.
