Hope this isn't a silly questions but...
when I feed Crush a carrot (usually 1/4th of a baby carrot and only a couple times a week) his mouth turns orange, is that normal?lol I never noticed it happening until a few days ago. It's just a little around his mouth and then it disappeared in a day or two.
I haven't seen anyone talk about this so I had to ask.

I feed shredded carrots every few weeks and they always have an orange mustache for a while after. Totally normal. You should see them after eating raspberries

Ooh never thought of giving him raspberries, guess it's time to make a trip to wally world! Oh and I know this is off of my topic but I noticed a lot of post about dandelions and being able to find them at the grocery store...maybe I look right over them but I'd swear I've never seen anything like that at our grocery stores?? Would it be in the fresh vegetables area?

I thought the same thing until I really looked for it. It's in the produce section, sold in bunches, usually beside/near the leaf lettuce. It should be labelled 'dandelion' or 'dandelion greens'. They're usually a lot bigger than you'd expect.

Once a week I put a baby carrot in the tank. Gomez and B.D. turn their noses up at it, so Beaker has it all to herself. Then she swims around with her orange lipstick on.

Thanks Janaero, I'll look for it and maybe find it now. I love feeding him new treats, especially if it's good for him! He had a blueberry yesterday and loved it as much as I do.haha

I wondered why my RES never gets any orange around his mouth when he eats carrots. I watched him eat some peels, and realized hardly anything touches the edges of his beak---he just scarfs them down like spaghetti.

If you can't find dandelions next to the lettuce, see if there's a section that has more "ethnic" type produce. I usually find them next/near to collards, chicory and mustard/turnip greens.
