I'm having no luck with cuttlebones. My turtles show no interest unless I'm actually standing there holding it for them. They won't touch them once they've sunk to the bottom, which happens within a day or two. I'm worried that they're not getting enough calcium, but the cuttle just doesn't seem to interest them. Are there foods high in calcium that I can feed, or a different way to give supplements?

i think i saw somethin about how people crush it up and put it on their pellets and stuff. that could work.

You can dust them with calcium, though they don't need a constant daily supply of cuttlebone. I think a once a week offering is good. Besides, your turts are grown up and males (I think) and they're eating their veggies, right?

If they like you holding them maybe a veggie clip would be the answer.

My turtles used to ignore the cuttlebone but a veggie clip really helped.

My turtle ignores it no matter what

we have those turtle bones floating in the tank. they nibble it every so often and it doesn't sink to the bottom. We also dust their food with calcium.

I give Turtley a worm dusted with rep-cal twice a week since he won't eat his cuttlebone.

Some people have reported that there is no hard backing... most say its still there. I've never seen it at the store, so I can' confirm whats going on.

Yup, they are very good about their veggies, they never leave leftovers!
