What should I feed my turtle?

Right now I am mixing some commercial pellets and some bugs that I bought at the petstore. My turtle is less than a year old is there anything else i should be feeding her... should I give more veriety in her food?

You definitely want some veggies in there, although they do eat more protein as hatchlings. Check out the post at the top of this section, it'll tell you some good foods to try.

Thanks I will try that!! I read that babys will eat mostly meaty foods so i only give her that but i will try her with some veggies

What bugs? Live, frozen, freeze dried?

Too much protein... that should only be used as a rare treat.

Oh... So as her main food I should only use pellets? Is there anything else I should be feeding her?

Yes, myrtle will need veggies and variety. Check out that link Steve provided and the stickies that Starchick referenced. Lots of food ideas there.
