Ok, so I never really thought about this before, but I've had my Leo now for over a year, and I have never seen poop in the tank. Does it dissolve or something?

He's probably eating it. Turtles are apt to do that if it's not scooped out soon after they've eliminated.

haha, I've had my Leo for about 6-7 months and I'd never seen him poop until two days ago, and then he promptly ate it. I'd been hoping I'd raised a turtle with better manners oh well.

I have never seen my turts poo, but trust me when I clean out the filters I can tell they poo if you know what I mean.

does that mean they are hungry??

it is cuz i give them veggie one day and blood worm the other day
and the veggie is not enough to make them full?
apparently this started after i do th veggie/blood worm alternation
but i am not sure if the alternation is the 'cause'

Do they get some pellets as well? If you feed only veggies and blood worms, it sounds like they could be lacking some nutrients in their diet. How big are they? If they're small and growing, feeding an appropriate amount of a reputable pellet would really be good (and vary with other foods).

Some turtles will eat their poop whether they're hungry or not, though.

i guess they are still babies
the bigger one is 1.5 inch ; smaller one is abt 1.4
i do feed them pellets but they dont like it
for veggies they only eat romaine lettuce
ive tried tomatoes, apples, carrots

are there any suggestions of what most RES would take? =x
it's so hard to figure out what they like
i cant always buy a bunch of them then find out they dont like it

They're small, growing, and need more protein than it sounds like they've got in their current diet. What pellets are you feeding them? If you don't have it, try to find Reptomin Baby, which are pellets made for smaller turtles.

i need to cut one pellet into 3 pieces tho
or it's too big for them

I have had Zeke since July and have YET to see poop in his tank. Either my filter is doing one heck of a job or he's munching on his poopies.

I've never seen a filter suck up an intact poop, especially since they usually sink to the bottom. So yes, they're munching on their poopies

turrbee, a good pellet like Reptomin Baby should be a staple in their diet with other foods for variety. If they're eating it, they like it. Pellets will provide nutrients that are lacking in other foods. Just don't overfeed.
