Well I fed my lil guy some carrots (smaaall, microscopic pieces) and he took a bite at it and spat it all out..

does it mean

a) he doesn't like it

b) He's choking.. the carrots need to be smaller?

I would lean more towards he doesn't like it.

id say he dosent lik it. I put a small piece in mine and she took a nibble and left it alone.

When my turts first started eating lettuce, they would bite off chunks and then seem to spit them out. It wasn't that they didn't like the lettuce, they just had trouble eating it. Making it smaller didn't help, they just needed time to adjust and figure it out. I'd try some other veggies and see how it goes, you can always go back and try the carrots later.

You could try softening the carrot by steaming it. My turts will sometimes spit out food that's hard and can't be broken into smaller pieces.

Mine will only eat carrots if they are cooked.

If he doesn't like the cooked carrots, then you can always try some boiled sweet potato for vitamin A. Mine loves it! I feed it to her with a small spoon (helps save my fingers).
