My turtle seems to be very amazed by the colour of my nails. I had a friend over yesterday, and we painted them bright colours like orange, neon pink and black. Today, when I fed my turtle by hand, like I always do, instead of looking at the food, he kept staring at my fingernails. He stood up on his hind legs and sniffed my nails, and then scratched them with his little claws.
And now he doesn't really eat from my fingers anymore. Do my colourful fingernails bother him?? Should I stop painting them this colour?

It could be he can smell the polish. They have a very keen sense of smell. Or the color may just be too distracting (lol), they love colorful things, they can see in color. I would bet that it's the smell though. Just my opinion, hope it helps. :)

Take the nail polish off and see if his behavior changes (make sure you get all the remover off as well).
