So, I watched my bigger RES during eating. She is an absolute PIG! She can eat 2-3 reptomin sticks at once, leaving very little for my other RES. I tried putting the smaller one in a tub, but all she does is try to escape. Is this something that will pass? Will she eventually get used to eating by herself? Ideally i'd like her to eat/poop and then I can put her back in the big tank. Any info is appreciated. I made sure the water is warm and covers her shell..

It should pass, I had some that not used to eat in a small container but they all warmed up to it eventually. Why not try with the bigger one?

She HATES to be picked up. As soon as she is out of the water, she opens her mouth and hisses and wants to snap.. maybe she needs to get used to being handled by humans??

Hmm maybe but id try to see if you can feed her seperate. Though for some reason i feel like she wont be one to eat outside the tank either given her nature but its worth a try. Otherwise i guess you just have to wait and see with the smaller one.

Yeah, will give it a try. My other idea is a feeding partition. My other turtles don't like to be picked up either, but they don't automatically hiss either. I did observe the larger one waving her claws at her tank mate and there was a biting during one of the feeding times, I think someone's limbs got too close to food, no broken skin, but I had to separate them for a bit.
