When i bought Donatello (my RES) i was told by a PetCo associate to feed him mainly pellets (8-10 a day) and crickets, minnows etc. as treats once or twice a week. Doing research on the internet i've read pellets should be only 25% of his diet the other 75% crickets, minnows etc. What is the correct way to feed my RES?

When I kept my RES inside I would do 1 day pellets, the next day veggies, feeder fish, feeder bugs (bought from pet stores of course, never live caught). You want to switch it up all the time because they like verity, if you buy a bunch of feeder fish and just let them swim free in the tank the turtles will get them as they want them and the fish will help keep the tank clean.

Feed them just a bit of each. they are like fish and will literally eat them self to death.
