my RES squirt is three inches. i am feeding him red leaf lettuce, half a head of pellets, and a pea-size portion of cuttlebone on a daily basis, and on occasion i will feed carrots as well as any fruit we have in the fridge. i get the feeling this diet isnt so balanced- now squirt has surpassed the 'hatchling' classification and its about time i confirm a proper diet! i feel like i'm giving him less veggies than i'm supposed to and just the opposite for the pellets ._. also, what is the ideal amount of lettuce to feed? are there other vegetables my turtle can eat besides the ones listed on the site ? how could i change things up a bit? i would really appreciate any input given towards a healthy diet for squirt! :D thank you!

I love those frozen turtle shots, and so does my turtle! They have a well rounded ingredient list on a sticky in this section. Really helped me out, I hated trying to keep all the fresh veggies around.

The recipe is on a sticky at the top of the feeding and nutrition forum. Really easy! I added a calcium supplement, just make sure you research the right kind. Once I started feeding him the turtle shots his shell became way more vibrant, and his overall activity level increased big time.

BTW my turtle Sheldon didn't like them until they were frozen for some reason.
