Once in a great while a small amount probably wouldn't hurt. That said, I wonder how much nutrition pears have, and with other foods being more nutritious, I'd stick with them (especially leafy greens for veggies). Too much fruit will cause diarrhea.

As far as fruit goes I would think canteloupe would be more nutritious as it has vitamin A in it.

I'd tend to think that pears are more sugary than other fruits as well.

I know lots of veggies that I can feed Stanley, but not too many fruits.

Any suggestions?

Fruit should only be fed once a month in moderation due to it's high sugar content. Grapes are my turtles favorite fruit, maybe because he only gets them on a rare occasion, or maybe it's the way they bounce along the bottom. ;) He loves chasing after them.

An occasional piece of cantelope is OK. It contains beta carotene, which your turtle can convert to vitamin A.
