Feeding and Nutrition :: growths on feeder fish?

Some feeders I got had these weird bumps on them. I don't know if they are growths, or parasites or what...does anyone know? (I got rid of the ones w/ the bumps cause I didn't want to take chances)

I know that the males when it's breeding time get tubercles on their heads, but I'm not sure about tails ... Maybe send the photo over to that rosie red page and see if they know!
