I saw this product online and I was wondering if it would be beneficial as an alternative to the calcium powder. My turtles wont eat cuttlebone or veggies. Has anyone tried this? I was thinking you could put in on their food, then let it dry and feed. Thanks!

i dont think it would work bc turtles eat their food under water and i think the spray would wash off but i have never tried it tho. just keep cuttle bone available and veggies you never know one day he/she might crave it it may also be due to the age young turtles dont usualy show interest in the two but always have it available! i hope this helped!

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't sure if it would work in the water. I thought it may stay on better than the powder though. LoL. It is funny that I am more concerned about my pets nutrition than my own.

I also think it would just wash off in the water... I say just keep offering cuttlebone, they will take to it eventually.

Reptomin three in one food, has pellets which have calcium carbonate in them. If they like pellets, that's a good way too get calcium in them two to three times a week. (Remember kids, too much of one thing is just as bad as to little, turtles must have a balanced diet). Araognite sand also has calcium in it, and and if ingested does a lot of good, without causing any harm.

MissMandy I worry more about my turt's diet than my own also, LOL! I do offer my turt cuttlebone pieces and when I clean her tank I usually find a little bit leftover on the bottom. Look at the sticky for jello shots, I grind up cuttlebone (or you can buy ground calcium) to add to the mix. My turt LOVES those jello shots! And keep trying fresh veggies that are on the approved list, your turt will take to them eventually.
