I got a new RES and it is about 4.5 inches, it was given to me by a neighbor who got it (sex unknown yet) from a friend.. Her friend had it in a small container and has fed it pellets for pretty much all of its life.
I was wondering if it will eat veggies and cuttlebone even though it hasn't tried it before. i have offered romaine lettuce and carrots but it shows no interest in it. Is there any thing I could use as a dietary supplement or something?
I live in Hawaii on Kauai and I'm pretty sure that we don't have a reptile vet to get it checked out.

Keep offering it. If you use freshwater aquatic plants, you can leave them in the tank. For lettuce, try a veggie clip to keep it in a stationary position.

I have some water hyacinth and cobomba ( I think that's what it's called) and some wat
er lettuce in with it. Is that okay for it to eat?
