as soon as i dropped a piece into the tank, she went right for it & gobbled all up. is it ok to feed her more than 1 carrot per day? or what is the most i can feed her per day? (she's 4 years old & 6 inches long. i think that makes her an adult female RES).

No! You can give a few carrots slivers each week, but they are too high in sugar to be fed daily. Try changing it up with some other fruits and veggies, like blueberries, sweet potato, mango/apple slivers, and lettuces. She can have lettuce every day, btw.

aw ok. adult RES can only have fruits at least once a month & since she's an adult, veggies are preferred in her diet. yep i know about the romaine lettuce, thank you for the info :)

You can give fruits more often, esp. blueberries. I'd say 2-4 blueberries each week should be okay. They are good for their diets. Mangos and apples and strawberries and grapes can be fed maybe once per week (just a head-sized piece), just keep it in moderation.

Oh, and you can give things like green and red peppers (just not spicy ones) or zucchini or squash too!

No, broccoli isn't good for them. The feeding page on the main site has a good list of what to feed and what to avoid. If you don't buy veggies for yourself, a good thing to do is go to the salad bar at the grocery store, that way you can buy turtle sized amounts of a variety of veggies.

So my turtle LOVES broccoli- but I know it's not good for her. She seriously freaks out when she even smells us steaming it for our selves. Is it OK to give her a small head of broccoli once in a while? Like once ever 2 months or so?
