hey umm... is it ok not to feed cuttlebone to a turtle and just live with the basic tetra turtle pellets and their veggies?

Yeah,of course!THey're getting their getting they're vitamins from the pellets,and they're nutrition from the vegetables,and the calcium from the cuttlebone!Yeah,it sounds like a good diet.Oh,and if you're wondering you can use the same cuttlebone that are for birds.

you need to offer cuttlebone. they need calcium in their diet. just be sure and take the backing off it before you offer it

yeah i read a post on cuttlebone. its good to cut off the hard edges. but i never fed cuttlebone to my turtles so i dont know if they will like it

chances are it'll get eaten. everytime i put a chunk in my tank its gone fast

Mine never eats it he just pushes it off his basking area and lets it swirl around the tank.

Little Foot likes to think the cuttlebone is an extra basking dock. He tries SO HARD to get on top of it. It's too cute.

i dont know because he seems kind of hard for them to get customed to new foods. took them a while to get use to veggies and carrot tops

Most turtles will go after it when they feel they need it. Just start with a small piece, see what they do, and give them more as needed

yeah i guess so. ill start off with 1 piece and continue. hope they like it because i had a serious problem with their veggies

I've found that pieces no bigger than the head work best. When I put a larger chunk in, it was ignored. But the smaller pieces are easier to grab.

the comp. gremlin: yeah working with the same rule on pellets the size of the head no more. so ill keep that to thought when i start feeding it to them

turtlelover: its alright everyone makes mistakes:D. ill try to feed them cuttlebone if theyll want it.

my other question is, is it a really big piece or is it some little oval thing?
