Feeding and Nutrition :: Is Parsley really bad?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I accidentally fed my turtle parsley and went to check if it was ok. (I have a lot of of fresh herbs around and have been feeding basil and a little romaine as it's main source of plants, and some blueberries because of Vitamin E I believe it was.)

Anyway, I put in the parsley and checked the site and it said it was bad. I only gave it a little, but was is the risk from it? Is it the oxalic acid or phosphorus or what? IF anyway can help, that would be great!

A little bit will be OK. Not sure what it is about parsley, but a one time thing isn't going to hurt at all :)

I looked into it, it says it's the oxalic acid. :/

Parsley is very high in oxalic acid. Once won't hurt, but I wouldn't really feed it. If your turtle ate it, I'm surprised---I used to keep some floating in my RES's tank when he was a hatchling (before I realized it wasn't good to give) and he wouldn't touch it.

Yeah, he hasn't really touched it. He might've nibbled, but I'm nut sure, most of it is still in the tank, and the basil is gone. He loves the basil!
