Feeding and Nutrition :: basil?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

so my mom grows fresh basil, and she never uses it. maybe i could put it to some good use haha.
i let my turtle run around on the patio today, and he grabbed a piece of basil and sprinted away with it. (of course he couldn't swallow it without some water haha)

so my question is, can i feed my turtle fresh basil leaves?

I might try to grow some and see if my turtle will eat it!
