How long can red eared sliders survive without food? I'll be going somewhere for vacation and I won't be able to buy food for them because I dont have enough time.

Turts can probably go a week without food, but it's recommended that you have someone to at least check in on them once in a while.

Adult turtles can go for a week without food, but if your turtle is less than 5 inches in length, I would have someone come in & feed him/her every other day until you get back.

I am a little disturbed; you won't be able to by food for your turtle because you don't have time? ):

IF POSSIBLE, you should look into getting a neighbor or someone to come in at least every other day and feed your turt. You could also by those clip things that suction to your tank and clip on a few greens, or possible even live anacharis. That would at least tide your turt over. ALSO, there are automatic fish feeders that release food at certain times of the day, maybe that could work? How long will you be gone for?

Lights are also a concern, maybe if you dont have anyone that can come by you could pick up a timer? ive seen a standard power strip/time at walmart for like 4 bucks.
