Well I bought $170 worth of turtle stuff today, and forgot to buy cuttlebone. I will buy the original one eventually, but right now I have the fruity one that I had for about a year, or longer. Is it still safe to use? Are there any other good supplements of calcium? I don't think we have any lettuce...

Sounds like your turtle is getting some good stuff! What kind of pellets do you have? The better quality pellets contain some calcium. Don't worry about it too much - just pick up some plain cuttlebone next time you're at the shop. It won't hurt him to go without for a week or two.

For lettuce options, I'd look at red-leaf and green-leaf. Romain is OK but not as good as the other two.
