So, i bought my baby res his first feeder fish. It's a small neon tetra. At first, he was swimming after it and trying to eat it, now he doesn't mind the fish at all. I don't want a pet fish though! I wish he'd eat it. Do some turtles not mind the fish in there? My turtle eats everything, I'm surprised he isn't still trying.

when my girlfriend first got her RES a couple of fish feeders it was pretty dull... the RES were not able to catch the fish fast enough so they gave up a bit.

low and behold, i think the fish started to feel less scared around the RES so they swam closer and closer to the turtles... then BAM!

eventually im sure ur RES will be able to get it when u lease expect it.

There are tales on the board of feeder fish surviving for months, like over 4 months. Sometimes it just takes time, and then they get eaten. You shouldn't need to feed the fish, necessarily, as it will eat the turtle leftovers.

I've had a neon tetra since before I got my RES and it's still there. And that was also 6 months ago.
