They are not big enough to store much in those little bodies and need the constant metobolism to stave off any diseases. For the first 6 to 8 months I feed them twice a day and then back to once a day for a year until they are over 21/2 inches. From about 3 to 31/2 inches I start skipping a day.

if you feed twice a day tho, cut the amount in half so they're still getting the same amount.
