How often should I feed my turtles any kind of crickets like live or canned I know they are high in protein so I don't want them to have to much :?

How often should Rosey Reds be fed to my turtles.

Those kinds of foods should best be fed as treats only a couple of times a month. They tend to be really messy and can pollute the water pretty quickly too.

The canned ones are actually relatively low in protein (look at the info on the can), and I don't know how much protein live ones have (probably not a lot), but they also don't contain any real nutrition (you'd have to gut load the live ones to improve on that). I've given both occasionally, and pretty much would limit it to a few small crickets every week to a week and a half.

I give my guys their "cricket fix" along with some shrimp and maybe some bloodworms when I do a water change every two weeks. They get fed these things in a separate container because they make a mess....

I was thinking of that idea of feeding them in a separte container but lets say you put the container in there basking area so when they come up to bask they can eat out of it but if you have two turtles wouldn't one eat more out of the container then the other??

I use one of those file size rubbermaid containers. My guys do a lot of pushing and shoving, but no fighting. Plus I do keep an eye on them to make sure everyone gets his/her share. Then I just let them hang out in there 'til I'm done.
