Keeping vegetables fresh

My RES happily eat many of the vegetables I leave for them (radicchio, romaine, carrot, endive are what I've tried so far), but I am having trouble with my veggies going bad. After 3 or 4 days, they start getting slimy.
So does anybody have ideas for having veggies, especially the leafy greens keep longer. Would it be okay to freeze them?
Of course, another sensible idea is to eat the veggies myself.
Too bad grocery stores don't sell turtle sized portions of veggies.

With lettuce, celery and the like, I've found that immediately rinsing them and wrapping them loosely in tinfoil helps a lot.

Putting vegetables in the freezer can kill the nutrients in them. The best way to keep them fresh is to store them completely dry in the fridge. Moisture is what causes them to get all gross.
We actually eat a large variety of vegetables on a regular basis, so Mikey just gets to munch on what we eat. I just cut off a small piece for him and hold in the water while he munches on it. This way everyone's healthy

Safdar, if you want to make it easier for him to chew, just cut thinner slices

I use a potato peeler for the carrots and he chows down.
