if you notice on my signiture, it says which are male, which are female,I bought them as juveniles 5 weeks ago, I cant say for sure what they are heres how I got to what I got:facts,
SLEEPY: has MANY dots on plastron, very pretty dot formation, blue shelled
HUNTER:has some faded dots, very bright cool green outside shell, looks similar to jorgy.
JORGY:similar dot pattern to hunter just not faded, green shelled, has been seen vibrating his hands on sleepys head.
yes its not based on much, but it is based on something , maybe you can come out to a similar thing
2 res
hunter:small, male (I think), adhd turtle, never goes in shell, almost went down my gutter (but got stuck), ferocious hunter. STATUS= QUESTIONS, VERY HEALTHY (??)
sleepy:largest, female (I think), goes in her shell when picked up, eats ANYTHING.

Wait a minute, when we talk head size are we talking diameter? Or volume? Because I always thought "feed about the size of the turtle's head" meant basically as many as could fit inside the turtle's head if it were hollow!

we also have to remember we arent all feeding the same product to our turtles, so when someone says a number of pellets, those pellets could be any size.

you should give all the food your turtle will be getting for the day all at once in one feeding.

In that case I think a lot of people are under-feeding their turtles. Either that or I have really small pellets. Because 4 pellets would probably only make up the diameter of my turtles' head. Not even close to his head volume. And yes, I know not to include the neck.

Well, my pellets are ___ long and maybe _ that wide. I use Nutrafin Max and I dont think the pellets are that big.

If you take a look at the pellets they dont seem too big. Thats why I was giving my turtles 5-6 each, cause if you put the pellets together, they arent that big. :/

But even though they arent big, im now giving the turtles only 2 each cause i dont want to over feed them. :/

I've been feeding them Red lettuce and they love it! Im afraid to try other veggies though since they're getting used to the Red Lettuce. Maybe i should just stick with the lettuce for a while?
