Hello every one.. ive been trying to feed my Turtle veggies and fruits.. Turtles a bit more than 2 yrs old, weve been feeding it pellets and crickets lately, but i would definitely like it if Turtle eats veggies.. ive been reading thru the suggestions in the site, but is not working; how can i get for it to eat them?

Have you tried attaching some lettuce to the side of the tank with a veggie clip? Leave it on there over night. Also jello shots can be a good way to get veggies in their diet.

You know... Those clips people have to clip onto a bag of say, potato chips, to stay fresh. I attach a suction cup to the clip then stick the lettuce to the glass. I have heard of soaking veggies in tuna water

You can usually find veggie clips in the aquarium section of pet stores... it's definitely worth a try.

Just stay away from the ones that look like clown fish. Mine broke within a week. I now use these, http://www.amazon.com/Ocean-Nutrition-Feeding-Frenzy-Seaweed/dp/B001EUG8BU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1318819943&sr=8-2 they work great.

I prefer this one:

The magnets work much better.

Actually, the only problem with the suction cup is that it will slide on the glass; but I don't mind that he pulls the suction cup down to the bottom of the tank to feed; to each his own. He seems much more comfortable sitting on the bottom while munching lettuce, and makes less of a mess. Plus, that clip you linked is way too small unless you are just putting one leaf of lettuce in there. With the wide clip, I can arrange a bunch of smaller leafs into it. That's the other thing I hated about the clown fish version. Not enough room in the clamp to fit multiple leafs.

I just stack my lettuce leafs. I like the magnet because it doesn't move and I don't have to go magnet fishing. If my turtle does manage to move the clip, I can just use the outside magnet to move it back up. If there's something that costs 5x more than it should and is marketed at extremely lazy people, I probably own it.

Am i the only one that just throws in a couple of leaves of whatever I'm feeding and walks away. When I come back it's gone and he's usually basking.

My turtle rips the floating greens apart then chases down the pieces.
