It depends on how big the sticks are. PLEASE read this page: www.redearslider.com/pellets.html

When in doubt, feed a little bit less than you think you should.

Like Steve said, it depends on the size. And unless we can see a picture of them, it'll be hard to tell you how much to feed them. Three is probably the minimum though.

I feed my hatching reptomin sticks and mazouri but when i feed the sticks I use 3 because my lil ones only 1.5" give or take a point and i have the full size sticks not the baby ones. So like everyone else said it depends on the size of food but also the size of your turtle but mine seems to be doing on on 3 sticks for the days I feed him/her them.

What I do is alternate between the sticks and the mazouri so not to feed one thing all the time and get an addiction going.

I don't believe 3 sticks is enough....I would say 4 or 5 a day

When I got my turtle, she was about 2" in length and I fed her 3 full-sized ReptoMin sticks a day, broken into thirds. Just remember to keep an eye on growth and increase the food intake as the turtles get bigger.

Their heads are 3 - 3.5 inches long? It sounds like you're including the neck, which shouldn't be included.

I'd up the amount by a stick or two. If they seem to be growing noticeably quickly, then lower the amount. Include other foods as well for variety.

Why are you feeding them 3X a day? Once or at most twice (half the daily amount each time) should be sufficient.

when my babies were 1-2 inches I would feed them from 6 - 12 baby pellets a day. I would feed them by hand so one would not get more then the other.

It was also a good way to get them used to being handled.
I have two female red ear sliders.
Chimpy - 5.5 inches
Chompy- 6.0 inches
Both were born about 7/2007
Got them -- 9/2007

I used to hand feed it and now when it sees my hand near water goes into frenzy and tries to eat my hand. It still panics when it is being handled as always.

If you want an accurate answer, you can post a picture of your turtle's head and a pellet sided by side.
