well i went fishing today and i used nightcrawlers (earthworms).
and i had some left over i was wondering if my turtle could eat them

Where did the worms originate from? If they are ones that you dug up yourself and know the soil content, then I say go ahead. If they are prepackaged, then it depends. I think it was Jen who was talking about the difference between worms from bait shops and worms from other sources.

edit: I went back and searched for the post I was thinking of and can't find it. But, I did find a post where Jen mentioned getting worms from a bait shop, so I'm guess that is good too.

Yes, I've been feeding bait shop worms for 2 years and haven't had a problem.

Thanks Jen! BUT, I was thinking that there was a post somewhere that mentioned a place not to get them. Maybe I am imagining things, but I was thinking along the lines of additives to the soil or something.

I've heard to make sure they're raised in compost rather than manure because of parasites, etc. Other than that, I'm not sure.

Dig them or buy them. I've gotten them from Walmart in the winter (trout worms) and haven't had any problems.

yes they were raised in compost and they were from a bait shop so i guess bob henry is gonna be happy today
