My turtle ( 6 in. RES) was given as a gift, the petstore (PetSmart) told my sister a lot of things to make them seem easier and cheaper to care for, so when I started doing research, it was a total shock. Also the people in my local petstore ( also a PetSmart) told me the oppisite of what my sister was told. It's ridiculous what these people will do to move thier "Product"

The petstore near me wanted to put my turtle in a 4" box "lined with plastic". The turtle's shell is 4"!! When I told him that I wanted the turtle put in a plastic container, he looked at me like I was crazy.

I only buy my fish food at this local petstore because it is obvious looking at their tanks (fish, turtles, etc.) that they don't know a thing about any of the animals they sell. I only bought my turtle there because I saw it had a problem with his left paw and I just couldn't walk out without rescuing him.
My babies: Tanner (RES), MR. Prissy & Ringo (budgies), Shinju (cockatiel)
