ok so i feed my 3 baby res's pellets for now, i put in about 5 pellets and they will all be go, i put a live plant in from the pet store, will they eat that? i also got a veggi clip and put some lettice on there ant put it in the water.

i tried red minnows i got 3 but they didnt eat them. should i have more feeder fish then they need so its easyer to catch them? the fish sometimes swim in front of them. i know its important for them to catch live food, but i dont know how i can encourage them to do so. maybe not feed them for a few days so they will eat the fish? Sorry fo the long post. Thanks in advance for your help.

What's the size of your red eared sliders? Make sure you get extremely small sized rosey red minnows so your turtles attempt to catch them. You can also try gut loaded crickets (baby ones) and break the legs off. This way your turtles wil still get protein and be able to catch live food. I don't reccomend not feeding hatchlings, that usually is for adults I think.

Don't worry about the turts catching the minnows, they probably will eventually. Just keep up your feeding as usual.
Are you feeding 5 pellets each or 5 pellets total for your three res's? 5 total sound like not enough...

I had rosies in the tank with my hatchlings that were almost as big as them. For three days they were all there. Then they began disappearing overnight. I had 6 in there and a week later 2. Then there were none.

If you just throw in 16 pellets, how can you be sure each got an equal amount? You might need to feed them separately or at least put some of the pellets in different areas of the tank for each to eat so one doesn't get more than the others.
